A sterling silver mint julep cup from the 1980s by Mark J. Scearce of Shelbyville, KY that was given as a gift to Indiana First Lady, Josie Orr, wife of Indiana Governor Robert Orr. This piece has a cylindrical shape, featuring a beaded border along the outer lip and the base and is engraved ‘Happy birthday to our ’Governess,’ November 7, 1988, With love and admiration, Marge and Arthur, Josie Orr’ to the front. The underside is marked ‘Mark J. Scearce Shelbyville Kentucky’ and ‘Sterling’. There is also an eagle mark above ‘RWR II’, which is a date mark for Ronald Reagan’s presidency between 1981 and 1989. The approximate weight is 4.880 ozt.
