Item Details

A vintage public transportation fare box. This box features a ring to insert the coins at the top, a glass cage to watch the machine in action, two counters in the front, and a change return slot. On one side it has wheels to operate the machine, to another side its has a pocket to hold schedules and brochures, and to the third side hardware to hold it in place on a vehicle. The item has a metal maker’s tag affixed to the front. Plates engraved ‘1170’ are affixed to the piece in two places, one above the maker’s tag, and one above the coin return slot. The machine has an electrical cord extending from the bottom; a metal tag to the lower right side reads ‘12 Volts’.

Condition

- scratches, marks, tarnish, some rust to the metal. Untested.
