Item Details

A Mid Century Modern massage recliner by the Contour Chair Company. This chair was manufactured in 1956 and is upholstered in orange vinyl with silver tone nailhead trim. It has a curved shape and features a tufted and channeled back, curved arms, and an angled footrest. The piece rests upon flared wooden legs and has an electric massage option. It is marked ‘Aug 17 1956’ to the underside. In 1951, this style of chair was featured in a photograph of Marilyn Monroe for Look Magazine (see link below).
