A hand-knotted Mahal Sarouk wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a bold palette of deep indigo, saffron, azure, wine, cranberry, emerald, rose, and sepia. The deep indigo colored field features a central medallion with flowering branches and lancette leaves radiating from the diamond shape. The field also features large floral and foliate motifs throughout along with palmettes. Framing the field is an over-sized rosette meander main border with a sawtooth guard border. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Labeled to the underside.
