A Chinese lacquered chest with cloisonné mounts. This elaborately painted lacquer chest has a pair of red and green Imperial dragons in the clouds on the front on either side of the light blue, red, yellow, white and black cloisonné lock plate decorated with five lotus flowers, the lock plate above a silver coin; the chest with cloisonné corner braces and reinforcements each decorated with a lotus flower; with the top having at its center a decorative cloisonné plate that matches the lock plate surrounded by clouds and the eight Buddhist symbols: jar, conch shell, umbrella, canopy, wheel of the law, fish and the mystic knot, with the interior painted in red lacquer with a removable tray; all resting on a raised plinth around the base, painted in the front with two Imperial dragons with a silver coin in between.
