A hand-knotted Persian Kurdish Bijar area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of cranberry, cornflower blue, teal, burgundy, ocher, pink, and pale mint. It features a central cornflower blue hexagonal pendant medallion on a cranberry colored lozenge with sawtooth edges. The field and corner spandrels are patterned with geometric herati motifs and the rug is framed by a carnation meander border.Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and natural warp fringe to the ends. Labeled to the underside ‘Made in Iran’.
