Hand-Knotted Vintage Persian Sirjan Wool Area Rug

A hand-knotted Persian Sirjan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, azure, black, ivory, saffron, and taupe. The crimson colored field features a stepped diamond medallion along with tree of life motifs, chained rosettes, bird motifs, along with other symbolic motifs. The field also features azure colored spandrels infilled with hooked medallions, and floral motifs. Framing this unique rug is a main geometric branched border along with floral meander guard borders and minor checked borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Labeled to the underside.
