The original painting is in the collection of Museo del Prado, Spain. This copy painting depicts the Christian Apostle Saint Paul from Rubens’ series of twelve portraits of the Apostles. This piece depicts a bearded elderly male figure in green robes with one arm resting on a book and the other holding a sword against a dark background. The copy painting is signed in green to the lower right. It is presented in a gold-tone composite frame with cast embellishments.
