1929 Edna M. Martin Etching "Jogging in the Sun"

An etching by Edna M. Martin (American, 1896 – 1996) titled Jogging in the Sun. It depicts a landscape with a tall scraggly tree in the foreground framing a cowboy on horseback in the distance. The unframed print is signed to the lower right and is mounted in a white mat. A gallery note to the verso indicates the print was number 6 in an edition of 15 and was created in 1929.

Edna Martin was born in Seekonk Massachusetts and graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1918. She taught at the Lincoln School in Providence, Rhode Island. Many of her watercolors and etchings were created during summers in Wyoming.
