A handwoven Kilim wool area rug. The rug has been worked in abrash shades of claret, brick, sand, clay, coffee, and peach. The brick field is infilled with a repeating pattern of pole quatre-foil motifs connected by hooked lines. Small geometric motifs have been placed among the larger devices. A reciprocal triangle border and a narrow border filled with truncated diamonds is edged by an outer border consisting of abstract shapes in the same palette. The selvedges are overcast and there is fringe at each end. The rug is not marked.
