Rembrandt Restrike Engraving "Six's Bridge"

A posthumous restrike engraving from an original plate after extremely well-listed and prolific Dutch artist Rembrandt Van Rijn (1606-1669), titled Six’s Bridge. The engraving depicts a gestural line drawing of two figures on a wooden bridge. A sailboat is moored in the waterway to the right side. It is signed and dated 1645 within the plate, and the artist’s name, date and indesipherable information are written in graphite to the lower margin. A brass plaque with the artist’s name, birth and death dates and the medium is attached to the base of the frame. Presented behind an ivory mat and liner, under glass, in a dark wooden frame, ready to hang with a wire. A label from Ehoodin & Willimas Art Gallery in Cincinnati is present to the verso.

- toning to print. Minor wear to frame finish.
