Antique "Crane" Regulator Wall Clock with Calendar Dial by Waterbury Clock Co.
Item Details
An antique Crane regulator wall clock with a calendar dial by Waterbury Clock Co., circa late 19th to early 20th century. The oak case houses an eight-day, spring-time movement and features a shaped pediment pressed with foliate motifs above a glazed door with two reverse-painted panels. Behind the upper panel is a round, white dial with a black, Roman-numeral chapter ring surrounded by Arabic date markers. The lower panel, marked ‘Regulator’, provides a view of the brass pendulum and the two cylinder weights. Accenting the bottom of the case is a scrolled pendant with applied, foliate moldings. The dial and the interior of the case are marked by the manufacturer while the back retains a paper label with the model name and operating instructions. Also included are two winding keys.
