19th-Century Bennington Rockingham Pottery Spittoon

Item Details

A mid to late 19th-century Bennington Rockingham pottery spittoon. The vessel has shell form reliefs around the ribbed, melon body and decorated with a mottled brown glaze. Around the exterior rim is a triangular cut for draining the vessel.

Condition

- two small chips around the top rim; small chip to the top of one shell.
