An antique French marquetry kingwood press. This late 19th century or early 20th century Louis XV style antique linen press is veneered in kingwood and decorated on the doors with fruitwood marquetry roses and daffodils with three types of secondary wood: birch, beech and oak. The cabinet has a cornice, chamfered corners, scalloped skirt and short French cabriole legs all veneered in kingwood; with the two doors each having two panels of floral marquetry between boarders of matched diagonal crossbanding with each of the doors having floral gilt brass escutcheons. Unmarked.

Condition

- chips to veneer, hole drilled for electrical equipment, various scuffs, rubs, marks , dings and scratches overall, age cracks to the secondary wood under the marquetry, closing mechanism old but a replacement, gilt brass mount on left foot missing.
