Antique French Provincial Beech Armoire

Item Details

An antique French provincial beech armoire. This mostly 18th century beech Louis XV provincial armoire has a wide cornice below which is an incised carved frieze above the two curvilinear panelled doors typical of the rococo period, below which is a long incised carved drawer with two plain brass pulls, above the scrolled skirt between the two short cabriole legs. Unmarked.

Condition

- evidence of old powder post beetle damage, open crack in upper right door panel, open crack in the lower center panel of the door, replaced top behind replaced cornice, lower support in back panels replaced, replaced lock, bail pull missing from right side of drawer, rear right leg heavily worn.
