Item Details
An original 1910 oil on canvas painting of a pastoral scene, signed by an artist named Horwitz. The painting, rendered in a naive realistic style, depicts a flock of sheep huddled in a wooden barn, gathered around a ewe and lamb resting on the hay-strewn floor. The work is signed illegibly and dated in black to the lower right. Presented in a gold tone wood frame with a hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- stretcher mark. Craquelure and small dent to canvas to upper right. Accretion across painting surface. Darkening to varnish.
