Pair of Great War Medals in Plastic Cases

A pair of medals from the Great War, in plastic cases. This pairing includes a round British Victory Medal made of copper coated in bronze, depicting winged victory to the obverse and the legend ‘The Great War for Civilisation, 1914-1919’ to the reverse, surrounded by a laurel wreath; an etching to the outside rim reads ‘4261 Pte. C.A. Rodwell, 16-Lond.R.’, referencing a Private serving in the Queen’s Westminster Rifles during the war. Also included is an 1887 Queen Victoria Golden Jubilee medal, in the shape of a five-pointed star and listing her birth, coronation, marriage, and Jubilee dates flanking a portrait of the monarch; the back is imprinted with ‘Rd. 58218’.
