An original oil painting on canvas titled Cows in a Landscape by American artist George Fredericks (19th/20th century). The tonalist painting feaures a heard of cows grazing in a misty, atmospheric landscape that has been rendered in earthy hues with concealed brushstrokes. Tall leafless trees frame the scene to the right side. The work is signed to the lower right. Presented in a gold tone wood frame with a gesso finish, ready to hang with a wire.
Condition
- stretcher marks with cracking. Accretion and large cracks across surface of painting. Darkening to varnish. Chips and accretion to frame finish.
