A vintage ‘Island Queen’ riverboat framed black and white photograph. Nestled in a simple black wood frame underneath glass, this unmarked circa 1940s photograph portrays this illustrious multi-tired side- wheeler proudly churning on the Ohio River, with curious onlookers on the banks. The historic ‘Island Queen’ riverboat carried passengers on excursions to other cities and especially to the Coney Island amusement park in Cincinnati. Due to a welder’s accident in 1947, the boat was destroyed by fire in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Condition
The photograph was not removed from its frame. Edge and surface age wear. Surface wrinkles and slight soiling. Wear consistent with age.
