An original antique Chinese ink wash painting on paper. The piece features a man wearing a robe and kneeling near a series of small boulders to the lower left edge of the composition. He holds a bird in his outstretched arms, which point in the direction of what appears to be a small flying horse floating just beyond his reach. A red artist’s seal is stamped to the lower left. The piece mounted within a gold-beige silk brocade with a scrolling pattern and is presented behind glass in a wooden frame carved to look like bamboo with black and gold tone finishes. A hanging wire is attached to the piece’s verso.

Condition

- to fair. Paper is quite yellowed and has creasing across, consistent with having been stored rolled.
