Arthur Diehl Oil Painting on Board of Ships in Harbor
Item Details
An oil painting on board by well-listed artist Arthur Diehl (English/American; 1870 – 1929). The painting depicts two large ships and two smaller boats in a harbor. A soft light is peaking through the clouds on a gray day, and the boats and the distant skyline appear as silhouetted shapes against the gray hues. The work is signed in black to the lower left. Presented in a gold-tone beveled wood frame with a hanging wire to the verso.

- abrasions to painting and board to right side. Accretion across painting surface. Abrasions and wear to frame finish.
