Cross-Stitch Embroidery of a Woman Surrounded by a Wreath
Item Details
A cross-stitch embroidery on light blue aida fabric. This piece depicts a woman in 19th Century dress seated in front of a mirror and engrossed in her needlework. She is surrounded by and appears to be sitting in a floral wreath with a butterfly on the right side. The work is unsigned and presented behind glass in a wood frame with clover molding and a gold tone sight edge. It is wired to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- scratching and marking to the wooden frame throughout; minor tearing to the verso paper.
