A model of a 19th century Spanish frigate sailing ship. This wooden model depicts an eighteen-gun Spanish warship , with a maroon painted hull, a single-level deck, and a gold-toned mermaid figurehead to the bow. The sails on the three masts bear the coats of arms of Denia (in Alicante, on the Spanish Mediterranean coast) and of the Spanish Empire, and the ship is mounted on a black wooden base with a plaque reading ‘Spanish Vessel, XIX Century.’
