Wooden Frame

A unique antique hand-colored silver gelatin photograph. The photograph was taken of an original Japanese woodblock print. The photograph depicts a three-masted schooner making its way across a wavy body of water. An American flag hangs from one end of the boat. The photograph of the original print has been accented with muted watercolors. A cartouche to the right margin holds several Japanese characters. The piece is matted in black and presented behind glass in a wooden frame with black and gold tone textured finishes and a sawtooth hanger.

Condition

- significant creasing across piece. Paper is slightly yellowed with age. Silver shadowing across photograph. Light scratching and wear to frame.
