Cross-Stitch and Crewel Embroideries of Flowers
Item Details
A pair of hand-stitched embroideries. The first is a crewel embroidery that depicts colorful, highly stylized flowers with a fancy blue bird perched on one branching stem. It is presented behind glass in a gold tone frame. The second is a cross-stitch piece on aida fabric that depicts a collection of cattails and long clusters of red and yellow flowers in a clay jug. It is presented in a wood frame. Both are unsigned and have wire to the versos for hanging.
Condition
- edge wear to frames with cracks in molding on gold tone frame; discoloration to textiles; slight accretion to surfaces.
