Hand-Knotted Tufenkian Persian-Inspired Tibetan Wool Area Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Tufenkian Tibetan wool area rug. The rug has been worked with Tibetan highland wool that was hand-carded, hand-spun, and hand-dyed in a palette which includes shades of cobalt, curry, charcoal gray, cinnamon, persimmon, and camel. The field is infilled with stylized floral, palmette, and lanceolate leaf motifs. The transitions between colors have been subtly carved to create depth and visual interest. The wide primary border with a lily pattern is flanked by narrow guard borders. There is long fringe at each end. A Tufenkian tag and a care tag are affixed to the reverse.
