Vintage Limoges Porcelain Plates Including L. Straus & Sons
Item Details
A selection of twelve early 20th century Limoges porcelain bread plates. The larger L. Straus & Sons plates feature a central snowflake medallion with brushed gilding to the verge as well as molded scroll accents to the scalloped edges. They are marked ‘L S & S Limoges’ placing production between 1890-1920. The smaller W. Guerin & Co. plates boast large central snowflake medallions with a repeating fleur-de-lis pattern to the dark blue border and an encrusted gilt ribbon design to the scalloped edges. These plates have manufacturer and decorator marks from ‘W. Guerin & Co. Limoges’ indicating production between 1891-1932.
