A hand-painted Russian Orthodox Easter egg. This depicts a Byzantine Madonna and child in an oval cartouche surrounded by vibrant red. It is signed ‘St Petersburg’ with the artist’s surname in Cyrillic on one side, and presented with a coordinating pedestal stand.

- some minor surface wear with scuffs underneath.
