Early 20th Century Sterling Silver Casket
Item Details
An early 20th century sterling silver casket. Featured is a lidded casket with a thick, curved rim to the lid and base. The piece rests on fluer-de-lis style legs and hoof feet. Two hallmarks, a lion passant, and a ‘b’ date letter, are marked to the lid and the underside of the piece is marked with three hallmarks including an anchor for Birmingham, a lion passant for sterling silver, and a ‘b’ date letter for 1901. The retailer is engraved under the hallmarks. The approximate weight is 3.490 ozt.
