Elkington & Co. Renaissance Revival Silver Plate Humidor

Item Details

A late 19th century ornate Renaissance Revival silver plate humidor box by Birmingham silversmith firm Elkington & Co. This chest features finialed corners, an elaborate lock plate, and intricate medallion decoration, as it rises above a flaring pedestal base. The hinged lid is topped with a statuette depicting Venus seated before a mirror. It is marked ‘E&Co’ underneath with a crown mark that was in use until 1897.

Condition

- some surface wear with markings and tarnishing; detached wooden interior.
