Vintage Commemorative Porcelain Plates Featuring Otto Von Bismark
Item Details
A pair of vintage commemorative porcelain plates depicting Otto Von Bismarck. These pieces commemorate the 100 year anniversary of Bismarck’s birth in 1815. The plates are inscribed with his quote: ‘We Germans fear god, but nothing else in the world.’ Each is crafted with an elaborately reticulated rim and features a portrait of Bismarck to the well, framed by a laurel wreath. The plates are presented with hangers to the verso and bear no discernible maker’s marks.
Condition
- to fair; minor marks and faint scratches throughout; various wear to painted and gilt trim.
