Hand-Knotted Persian Arak Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Arak area rug. This wool rug features a Sarouk-style design in an abrashed palette of cinnamon, taupe, cream, and camel, with prominent celadon, black, and cerulean highlights. It has a purposefully abrashed cinnamon field seeded with a round flowerhead at the center, the field populated with chains and sprays of flowers. Framing the field are three borders, including a main border grounded in dark taupe and filled with alternating floral clusters and flowerheads. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with tan cotton warp fringe. It is labeled ‘Made in Iran’ on the reverse.
