Griffin Themed Faïence Centerpiece

Item Details

A hand-painted faïence centerpiece. The centerpiece has a scalloped rim, oval shaped body, a pair of applied griffin shaped handles, and a pedestal base. Glazed in cobalt blue and tan, the piece features hand-painted floral and foliate designs in poppy red and sage green throughout. The well is graced with a depiction of the mythical griffin. A maker’s mark was not visible.

- one decorative handle broken; minor wear and sticker residue to underside.
