Sevres French Porcelain Hand-Painted Figural Vanity Box
Item Details
A Sevres French porcelain vanity box with hand-painted figural scene. This piece features a blue oval body with gold tone gilt rims and a medallion to the front with foliate details and a tree motif to the center. The gilt lid features a blue border, decorative gilt cartouches and a padded interior with a floral pattern. To the top of the lid is a miniature painting on porcelain of a figural pastoral scene painted by Geo Rochette and signed in paint to the lower right. The coffre is impressed to the underside ‘M’ and ‘Sevres’.
Condition
- minor wear and tiny stains throughout gilt surface; interior padding of lid is slightly detached to the left; minor craquelure to surface of painting.
