Item Details
An antique Victorian black lacquer and papier-mache tilt-top side table with inlay, circa third quarter of the 19th century. The frame features an oval, scalloped top painted with a central, floral bouquet and inlaid with mother-of-pearl fragments. The top tilts on a graduated, cylindrical standard decorated with gilt-foliate motifs and ending in a scalloped base with applied, metal feet.

Condition
- scattered scratches, scuffs, and nicks; some fading and losses to painted decoration; top with repairs to edges; later support block added below top, it is stack on original block which has former pest damage (worming) and associated losses; some later inscriptions to undersides; minor oxidation/rust to metal feet.
