A photogravure titled At the Door of ‘The Dolphin’ after well-listed English painter George Morland (1763 – 1804). This black and white piece depicts a group of people at the door of an inn, with a donkey tied beside the building and trees hanging low over the roof. The work is presented unsigned under a mat and glass in an ornate gold tone wood and gesso frame, wired to hang with a label to the verso.
Condition
- edge wear, scratches and chips to frame; minor separation at joints and cracking to finish; accretion to surface; minor abrasions to lower left edge of mat; damage to backing paper.
