Antique English Silver Plate Cellini Jug
Item Details
A fine English silver plate Cellini claret jug. The jug features chased design in bands around the body of deer, foliage bundles and lions face medallions, an ornate caryatid handle and gold-washed interior, after the iconic Renaissance designs of Benevenuto Cellini (1500-1571). The jug is marked to the underside ‘Made in England’ and with the retailer’s name ‘Greenleaf & Crosby Florida’. Please see item 17BOS186-701 for another Cellini jug in Victorian sterling silver.
