A Victorian Wedgwood majolica plate. This argenta majolica plate featuring an embossed design of a leaf with strawberry and grape motifs in hues of green, yellow, and red against a white body accented with green trim along the subtle scalloped border is typical of the naturalistic themes prevalent on antique majolica. Wedgwood was one of the top four factories in England known for the quality and sensitivity to aesthetic of the period. It is marked with an impressed mark to the underside, ‘Wedgwood’.
