An antique oil painting on paper of a gentleman. This portrait, which appears to be rendered in the style of a crayon enlargement, depicts a man with a carefully-groomed mustache and a look of concentration on his face. The background of the piece is filled with whitish scumbling, and the piece is presented under glass and a green mat with an rounded window. The piece is contained in an ornately-molded gold tone frame with a running leaf design and a hanging wire to its verso.
Condition
- some paint loss and discoloration visible to paper; crack in mat board at right side; residue on glass; cracks and wear to moulding on frame; backing board is cracked and deteriorating due to age.
