Jacquard-Woven Tapestry "Vase Chambourd Framboise"
Item Details
A Jacquard-woven tapestry titled Vase Chambourd Framboise from French manufacturer Jules Pansu. This tapestry is based on a piece from a set of 18th century wall coverings originally woven for George William the Sixth Earl of Coventry at the Gobelins Manufactory. This piece depicts a golden urn overflowing with flowers on a red damask-style ground. This center arrangement is surrounded by a gold border detailed to look like a molded frame. The piece is finished with a cotton fabric lining and has the Halluin coat of arms woven in the lower right corner. It has a pocket along the top edge for a hanging rod and a French certificate of authenticity describing the piece.
