A vintage Chinese style relief-carved dresser box. The wooden, dark-stained box features a rectangular, hinged lid carved with a central reserve of guardian lions in pursuit of a ball against a scrolled-tendril ground. It opens to a vacant interior and the side panels are further carved with foliate and geometric motifs. The box rises on a molded base and it is unmarked.
Condition
- to fair; small chips to three corners of lid; light separation/gap between body and base at front, right corner.
