Gorham Silver Plate Salt and Pepper Set with Victorian Sterling Creamer

A silver plate salt and pepper shaker set by Gorham with an antique Victorian English sterling silver creamer. These shakers features cylindrical forms with beaded, intertwined, and fan bands around the top and body. The undersides are embossed with the Gorham anchor in a shield cartouche above ‘Gorham Co.’ and ‘0600 Silver 43’. These shakers are accompanied by an antique circa 1865 sterling silver creamer engraved with an oval cartouche with a personalized engraving to the front surrounded by scroll designs, as well as scrolled foliate bands at the top and base near beaded trim and foliate handle. The creamer bears marks for the sponsor’s assay AM (Alexander Macrae), leopard head (London city assay), lion rampant (English sterling assay), date letter K (1865), and the duty mark of Queen Victoria (1838 – 1890). The approximate weight of the creamer is 6.515 ozt.
