A black and white original etching on paper by American artist John French Sloan (1871-1951). The work depicts a man on horseback galloping through a village. The work was one of the illustrations from Monsieur Dupont by French novelist Charles Paul deKock. The piece is presented in a gilded frame with a wire to the verso for hanging. John French Sloan was one of the founders of the Ashcan School of American Art.
