Vintage Wool Bespoke VFW Drum Majorette Uniform
Item Details
A vintage wool bespoke VFW drum majorette uniform. The drum corps uniform, from Bandsman Style-Select Uniform Co., includes a purple bell boy zip jacket, featuring a cream stand collar, epaulettes with braided rope insignia, a striped shoulder sash, soutache braid accents, cream banding at the waist and cuffs, and an embroidered patch on the left sleeve. The godet cream tone skirt features a dirndl waistband with side button fastenings over a zipper closure, and inverted pleats with contrast purple wool. This selection includes a photograph of the previous owner with the Nisei Ambassadors Drum Corps, American Legion/VFW Post 7181, Forest Park, Illinois. The Nisei Ambassadors were active from 1959 thru 1971.
Condition
- fabric frays, especially at collar, staining on items, discoloration on metal.
