A hand-tufted Antiquity area rug by Safavieh. This Indian-made wool rug features a design inspired by Persian Bakhtiari weavings in a palette of sapphire, gold, ivory, and powder blue, with prominent rust-colored highlights. It begins with a curvilineary star medallion with lateral palmette pendants over a sapphire field. Arranged along a vertical axis are leafy branches and willow-tree motifs, amid sprays of flowers. The field is framed by four borders, including a wide main border grounded in sapphire and filled with willow and stylized palmette motifs.
