A hand-knotted Tekke Bokhara area rug. This silk/wool blend rug is rendered in a palette of scarlet, burgundy, ivory and black. It begins with three vertical rows of Tekke-style medallions and two rows of vertical cross medallions over a scarlet field. Framing the field are three wraparound geometric borders, including a main border featuring boxed starburst motifs. Two horizontal panels, one at the top, one at the bottom, each feature a diamond-lattice pattern. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with ivory cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
