A 1977 limited edition bronze sculpture by Sid Burns (1916 – 1979) titled Pride of Race. This piece depicts a Native American man posing wearing a large ornate feathered headdress and feathered cape. Burns, who was born in Oklahoma, resided in Arizona for much of his life and was a self-taught artist who began sculpting at the age of 50. His passion for Western subject matter is reflected in the dynamic motion of this sculpture with special attention given to the musculature of the horse along with its highly detailed saddlery and tack. The work is signed, titled, dated, and numbered 11 out of 24 to the left side and is presented without a base.
