Axel Hansen Original Vintage Oil Painting on Canvas
Item Details
An original vintage oil painting on canvas by listed Danish painter Axel Hansen (1896 – 1936), titled Horses and Foal by Scandanavian Fjord. The painting depicts three young horses and a small her of sheep grazing in a grassy field along a broad body of water. The painting is completed in short, Impressionistic strokes. It is signed in black to the lower right and presented in a wooden frame with brushed gold tone finish and a hanging wire attached to the verso. A certificate of authenticity from Obro Art Gallery is attached to the verso, and gives the piece’s title.
Condition
- accretion across painting’s surface. Light creasing where stretcher bars have rubbed against verso of canvas. A few very small splatters of blue paint mark the left edge of the painting. Scratching and wear across frame.
