Item Details
An oil painting on wood board of a European school scene by listed artist Rene Toussaint. This work features groups of school girls and instructors exiting a European ecclesiastical building and scattered throughout the courtyard. The painting is signed ‘R. Toussaint’ to the lower left. It is presented in a textural gold-tone wood frame with a stepped brown and white sight edge. A metal plate affixed to the lower edge of the frame is engraved in Czech, roughly translating to ‘In memory of Czechoslovakian friends’.
Condition
- small stains and scratches scattered throughout painting; minor splits faintly visible throughout wood board; wear in frame includes small chips, scratches, stains, and finish loss scattered throughout.
