A framed offset lithograph titled Chateau de Maintenon. The work depicts the ancient French fort after its full restoration by Jean Cottereau, a wealthy government official in the court of the French King, Louis XII. The fort was later converted to a luxurious retreat for Madame de Maintenon, the second wife of Louis XIV. The print is presented with layered matting and housed in an ornate wood frame with mounting hardware to the reverse.
